Floral watercolor painting session

Told Grace I wanted to go for classes on watercolor painting, she suggested Natalie studio and we can go together. So we booked the session on weekend morning. The session was taken place at The Art Faculty by Pathlight, 1st time for me to visit the place. The lesson location is quite convenience and nice for workshop.

The watercolor set that I will be using, only the artwork paper that you have done you can bring home. Starter kit can purchase from them at $30 I didn't buy it.

The workshop is 3 hours, total there's 9 students in the workshop. I find that the workshop is a little rush, she couldn't really take care of everyone and teach them individually how we should adjust our painting style. But did manage to learn some tips on how to paint the floral just need to practice more. There's tea or coffee available for us to take, we can also order a pastry and I took a banana muffin.

Did some practice and we are to draw our floral wreath but we were too tired and we know we couldn't finish it by the time given. So we decided to do our floral wreath back home.

Our lovely weekend. I only think I did well on roses painting hahaha shall practice more on other flowers.

Weekend activities

For workers weekend is the best days of the week. Thus I must spend my weekend to the fullest!

Last week Friday after work Hubby, LH and me went to Marina Bay's event iLight @ Marina Bay. This is my 1st time going to this event, but a walk with them is the best thing for me to do that week.

The most popular location for everyone to take photo.

Hubby's Birthday

As I just started my new job I couldn't take leave to celebrate his birthday on the actual day. Hubby suggested to had the dancing crab for dinner so we went during the weekend.

It's actually quite nice... but I can do it at home with a cheaper price....hahaha

As for the actual birthday we didn't do much only went for a dinner at nex after my work. Didn't arrange much activities but we felt we spend a lot of money already.

Dinner at nex, guess this restaurant has became our favourite place for important occasion. They serve good food at a reasonable price.

Back to workforce

As my previous post mentioned I have gotten a job offer. I have been working there for 2 weeks, not much people knows that only the close ones. How was the work so far? To be truth, I am straggling to get use to it. Many times I keep asking myself do I really want this job? Told my bff and she said this is a good job and I am lucky to be able to get this job. I do agreed that this job do have it's good points and bad points. And I keep thinking that this job shouldn't be giving such high salary.

First week I was really overwhelmed by backdated work not done by the previous admin. Never did I realise that the people there actually didn't know what the previous admin was doing. So many stuff I need to depend on the other admin that is not based at my office. Many times I got so frustrated with the backdated stuff. When I just started working 3 days I need to learn and as well as check the work of previous admin. Which was not what I expected. Well who to blame right? I didn't ask them if this job is a new position or what was the reason for previous admin to leave. I didn't even ask if there will be someone handing over to me. Maybe because previously I felt how difficult can a admin job be right?

The job scope wasn't that difficult as compare with my previous work at Taka of cause. Hubby said it was just a started part and I'm learning new stuff that's why I felt lost at times. So long I know everything and start doing it myself I'll feel better. So I told myself yes please just get through 2 weeks maybe things will get better once I know everything. But 2nd week didn't get better, at times I keep asking myself do I really want to stay here. Even last Friday I got so pissed of with the VP and raise my voice to her. I couldn't take it when she keep asking me lots of question of how the report was done last month when I just joined and I just learned how to do the report yesterday. I felt she was really pushy with things and maybe I'm not to what she expected too. I felt helpless as well when I thought there will be solution to all the question I have on the report but in the end I was shot by even more question from VP.  She even asked me to make a call to ask when I felt it was totally unprofessional to make the call when such answer should be able to resolve internally. Disagreement with VP makes me even felt like giving up. But then think again who doesn't have disagreement at work right?

I really hope that things will turn better next 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to get use to the environment and everything. At least I wouldn't feel so bad about myself for giving up so easily.

Feb last week

Backdated post, Feb was a short month. In a blink of an eye, Feb has already ended. Many people didn't know this, I actually got a job offered on the 3rd week of Feb and I need to start work on the 1st of March. So the last week of Feb was the last week I can enjoy being jobless.

I went Taka and find my ex-colleagues for lunch. I actually wanted to meet the promotion team only but the others know I was coming so they went lunch together. I'm totally fine with that and I got the chance to see the 2 guys replacing Bryan & me. I was totally in a great mood to see them all again. After the lunch I went for shopping! Believe me the damage was quite big haha. On the same day I met so many of the taka staff and not only that I met my twins Grace & bf! Finally get to see that man, well we had a short chit chat and she told me she just resigned. haha Well she was suppose to resign early and we both can go for a holiday together. But too bad I already gotten a job offer before she resign.

On the last day of Feb I met up with twins and we had a dinner. Not only that we decided to go for a watercolor painting session on 19 Mar. Well we really shared too much similar hobbits that's also one reason why we can click so well. Couldn't wait for our watercolor painting day to come.

Jobless life = "Tai Tai Life"?

Before I went jobless, I will have many thoughts for how to spend my time doing things I want to do. Examples like: watch dramas non stop, pick up a short course to learn a new skill, do some painting, recognize my wardrobe, do my nail arts, brush up on my cooking skills, exercise, high tea, window shopping, or maybe perhaps get a driving license. The to-do-list just keep going round my mind, but hey when I'm really jobless what have I done?

To my surprise I actually just want to stay at home and rot! Luckily enough the first 2 weeks I was busy with Chinese New Year. But right after the CNY what happened? I kind of lost, I start to ask myself what am I suppose to do every morning I wake up. Then due to the mind set of "I cannot anyhow spend money!" so I start to plan all my meals to cook. Cooking my own meals also means that the afternoon I need to stay at home so that I will have enough time to prepare for the food. But once I am at home what I'll do is watch drama the whole afternoon!

Few days down the road I start to think my life seems meaningless, I need to start looking for jobs. I will also start to have negative thoughts like "what if I can't find a job in the next half year?". Although I know that I actually have planned my savings and I have enough to last being jobless for 1 year, I'll be panic and worried that it might not be enough.... Looking though the job search website makes me demoralize as well, everyday clicking in the apply but yet no calls receive makes you worry. You start to feel yourself being useless and start to ask yourself what have you been doing the past few years? Are you really not worth the amount you have been paid for in the past few years? Negative thinking kicks in and start to feel no energy. No energy to do anything.... so how to complete the to-do-list? Continue to stay at home watch dramas loh....

Not to mention the loneliness at home....hubby was surprised I actually start looking for jobs. He thought I will have a few months break first. The thing is that IT'S REALLY TOO BORING AT HOME AH!!!!

So who said Tai Tai life is good??? Hahahaha I start to think my mom must be damn bored at home too. Really not everybody can have this kind of Tai Tai life loh....

This year Valentine's Day fall under the Chinese New Year period again. This year we celebrated Valentine's Day with my ex-colleagues! Haha Kind of impromptu gathering because Phoebe got to know I left Taka. Been awhile haven't met her, we decided to have a pot luck session at her place.

All the delicious food on the table. Yummy!
