Yet another farewell

Yes I resigned again, hahaha. After my long service in the department store I managed to found another job quite quickly, that many of the people around me couldn't believe it. It was actually my first interview, and I felt very grateful that I got the job.

When I graduate from my ITE I actually ever thought of going to childcare as a teacher, but at that time the salary of a childcare teacher was really very low. Plus you need to have the qualification. And I was given a chance in my 1st job so I forgotten that thought.

Now I must say it was a job that fits my needs, to be in the childcare as an admin. I enjoyed many of my days at the center, people there was nice, children there was so lovely. But due to my personal reason I have to leave the job now and stay home for awhile. It's a pity I couldn't stay there longer, although I complain quite a bit of my job too. Well who wouldn't complain about their job? I will really miss my babies at the center. Many of the teachers were shocked with my decision but wishes me well. I'm really thankful with this opportunity to work there. I have also learn quite a lot of new things. I would never be able to learn more in life if I would to stay on in my 1st job. I never regret leaving although I missed some of the "comfort zone" benefits I get there.

Life is really full of things for us to explore, I have learn to not stay in my old self and explore what other stuff in life can make a better me.

I would like to say thank you to all the teachers they have taught me a lot of things.

We had a dinner quite sometime back I didn't have the time to post this. Had an enjoyable night, they were still trying to change my mind to go back and work. :P It feels good to be appreciated in your work. But for now I'll have to say goodbye, if there's chance I hope to work with them again.

PS: They made a farewell gift for me, the hand prints of PN's babies. Simple and yet I LOVE IT! Now it's placed in my living room as a art piece. I miss the babies. ;(

A career or a job?

This question has been in my mind for awhile. Reason being I have been working for the new job for close to 3mths. Confirmation is coming....

When I was in my precious job neebie will worried that they dont get the confirmation after 3mths. I'll always tell them not to worried as the company usually will just confirm you so long you want this job and so long your performance is not too bad. Even when I was servicing my probation last time I wasnt worried at all for the confirmation as I was in damn good relationship with the bosses. Hahaha we are even still friends now.

Many people tell me even in my new job now that I wouldn't have the problem of not getting the confirmation. Hummmm not sure if its a good thing or not. I sometimes will lack of confidence and think that my performance is not up to their expectation or I think did I do the extra miles? But now I got another thinking suddenly....should I take the confirmation? Well I have the 2nd choice to decide if I want this job now. Then I ask myself is this really what I want and how long I can serve this company. I must say so far most of the time I feels happy working there but I tend to think how far can I grow here?

So this question came about: Is this a career for me or just a job? I felt I'm treating it as just a job so far and I'm not sure if its a good sign. I asked my close friends they all said they all just want a simple job not a career.... hummmmmm I'm still not sure.

Yet another farewell....

Not from my current working place, it's my ex company colleague. Haha

Didn't quite expect this colleague will resign from the company. And it has been quite a while I didn't meet the others. Told them to have a farewell dinner and I'll come along as well.

Have a great night eating, gossiping, and miss their funny little bimbo moments...

From new blog

No idea but I think there will be more people leaving the company. I am still glad that I left the company although I still miss the days I had there. All the best to her and all the best to the others. I wish them all well and hopefully we will still keep in touch.

On course again

Never expect I need to go on course again so soon. Never expect I need to attend this course.

SOME MORE THE COURSE IS ON WEEKEND!!!! Weekend burned!

But I must say the course is very informative and I learn something useful. But hopefully I don't get to use these skills.

After the 2nd day I went home having sudden high fever, and I was so worried I couldn't attend the 3rd day lesson. I even worried I kana dengue but luckily it wasn't and the fever went off the next day. So I managed to finish the whole course! Horray!

Back to workforce

As my previous post mentioned I have gotten a job offer. I have been working there for 2 weeks, not much people knows that only the close ones. How was the work so far? To be truth, I am straggling to get use to it. Many times I keep asking myself do I really want this job? Told my bff and she said this is a good job and I am lucky to be able to get this job. I do agreed that this job do have it's good points and bad points. And I keep thinking that this job shouldn't be giving such high salary.

First week I was really overwhelmed by backdated work not done by the previous admin. Never did I realise that the people there actually didn't know what the previous admin was doing. So many stuff I need to depend on the other admin that is not based at my office. Many times I got so frustrated with the backdated stuff. When I just started working 3 days I need to learn and as well as check the work of previous admin. Which was not what I expected. Well who to blame right? I didn't ask them if this job is a new position or what was the reason for previous admin to leave. I didn't even ask if there will be someone handing over to me. Maybe because previously I felt how difficult can a admin job be right?

The job scope wasn't that difficult as compare with my previous work at Taka of cause. Hubby said it was just a started part and I'm learning new stuff that's why I felt lost at times. So long I know everything and start doing it myself I'll feel better. So I told myself yes please just get through 2 weeks maybe things will get better once I know everything. But 2nd week didn't get better, at times I keep asking myself do I really want to stay here. Even last Friday I got so pissed of with the VP and raise my voice to her. I couldn't take it when she keep asking me lots of question of how the report was done last month when I just joined and I just learned how to do the report yesterday. I felt she was really pushy with things and maybe I'm not to what she expected too. I felt helpless as well when I thought there will be solution to all the question I have on the report but in the end I was shot by even more question from VP.  She even asked me to make a call to ask when I felt it was totally unprofessional to make the call when such answer should be able to resolve internally. Disagreement with VP makes me even felt like giving up. But then think again who doesn't have disagreement at work right?

I really hope that things will turn better next 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to get use to the environment and everything. At least I wouldn't feel so bad about myself for giving up so easily.

Farewell

As what I have mentioned in my previous post I have tender my resignation to my 15 years job. The last 2 weeks at there was really emotional for me. People keep coming to me telling me I shouldn't go or they will gonna miss me. Some of them I know said these from their bottom of their heart but some I know they just wanted to PR with me. I felt touched by some of them and I got upset with some others as well.

In the end I am glad there is this 2 person...
From new blog

Farewell dinner arranged by partner. Enjoyed our night at Joo Bar followed by Korean Bingsoo.

Then another farewell lunch with the boss, but in my heart I really didn't feel like going. Well I really shouldn't and I regretted going. The whole lunch was meaningless, they were almost talking about work and more like a handover lunch then a farewell lunch. Really don't understand why they can be so fake.

Well at least the executive still managed to take a photo together.
From new blog
Mixed feeling, I'm sure gonna miss them and miss the tea break times...

Then the last day came, 25 Jan 2016. I thought last day usually farewell gift will be given when it's about close to off work time. In the end it was presented to me after our weekly meeting, I had to give a speech and there wasn't any group photo taken. This is something I didn't expect too. Maybe they really doesn't really gonna miss me. Anyway luckily still got my team mates who brought me a additional gift.

From new blog

I was touched for the effort my partner put into preparing the farewell card. She even went to find other dept's people to pen down their thoughts. I love the farewell card. It somehow fill up all the unhappiness for my last day.

Anyway that's everything for the Farewell. There goes my 15 years.

Tue 29 Dec 2015

This post should be a short one, sorry for not keeping on my writing on my blog. I realize my posts in 2015 is very little too but I just couldn't put my heart in doing things I used to enjoy.

The title of this post is Tue 29 Dec 2015. I wanted to record this down as it marks an important date in my life. On this date I have finally tender my resignation for my job that I have been working for 14 years. Decision to make this move was hard....nights of crying in front of hubby, days of straggling at work, trying to think for reason for me to stay put.

Finally many things happened just during this few weeks in Dec to make me realize I have delayed enough. It's time to move on~~

The moment I handed my letter to my boss, I felt calm. This is it, no more u-turn. My boss was pretty shock when he saw the letter. We talked for awhile and he didn't offer to make any changes and accepted my decision.

Now it is just the counting down for the one month notice.......

Looking back.....

Didn't realise it has been quite a long time I didn't blog....wonder why? I used to love writing down happenings in my life, my feelings and thoughts. Where has that part gone?

The tiring work life and turn me to a walking zombie I realise. Doing anything during weekends seems to make me feel tired. All I wanted to do is to rest on my sofa and watch dramas. There has been many happenings in life the past 2 months that I would like to blog but just couldn't pick up the heart to do so.

Sudden feelings makes me log on to this page again, wanted to note down some unhappiness. Working at this company has been close to 14 years going 15th soon. Looking back the job has turn me to another person. I have been through hard times at work, there was happiness and sadness moments. Many people come, many people left the company. Good colleagues left but I am still here. I no longer have any strong feelings when someone close resign, I even will ask the close ones to leave this company soonest.

I don't hate the company, I hate the management. I always believe if the management are good the life of the staff will be better. That's why leadership is important. As days goes by, I couldn't see my future in the company. These days there's always an anger in us that couldn't be release out. People being not co-operative at work and managers doesn't know how to handle the situation. Are they so lousy in managing? Or they are just simply ignoring?

Well whatever it is, I think I should learn to not get bothered by all these people. I know it's hard but that's the learning process of being a better person. I have learned from a previous manager "don't let the situation make you down, learn to turn the situation to your benefit".

Believe stress is good to you. Turn stress to motivation. Work is only just a small part of my life. My bigger part in life is my family & friends who really cares.

End of April

Without much notice it's already the end of April?! Wow time really pass damn fast. Is it due to the busy schedule in life that makes us think that way? But anyway I'm glad that April has passed, why? I was damn stress over works and I didn't quite enjoyed the month of April. haha

As mentioned in my previous post I went for the excel course this month, it was damn stressful to go back to study and sit for an exam. What makes it worst was I had my 1st day of mense on the exam day! Nearly wanted to give up taking the test and ask for retest. Luckily I still make it for the test and got myself 94 marks! It was really a great relief for me once I saw my score as the passing score must be 75 and above. Crazy right? But I'm glad it's over and I have gotten some useful skills.

Just before the test I decided to do some exercise to release out the stress, so one of the weekend hubby bought me to punggol end point for cycling! It was a great work out and I enjoyed myself cycling along punggol end with great view.

Not forgetting to mention I love the bicycle! It's so cute! How I wish I own such cute bicycle.

After the ride we had our sinful dinner....hahaha back to square one.

From new blog

Other than the stressful work and study there's also a little bit of fun stuff happened in April. One of it will be the Dinner & Dance! This year theme is back to school, ok it's really boring theme. And our dept usually wouldn't dress according to the theme. haha

Camera whoring in office while waiting for the others to finish their work.

At the event hall the crazy girl at school...Mark Lee was the special guest that night. We didn't quite like his performance, it's kind of boring actually...haha

Photos taken at the photo booth, this year is also the last year we attending D&D with Zenn San. She has just resigned and last day is end of April. Although it's hard to say goodbye to her, she has been Kai Xin Guo at work. Nevertheless I wishes her all the best in her future, hope we will still keep in touch. We will sure miss Zenn San.

Stress Level HIGH!

Ok what happened to this April? Perhaps because last few years this period I will be away for holiday so I don't handle so many shitty event. But that really makes me hoping my real holiday comes soon!

From new blog
So what have I been stress with? One major event going on in June and a stressful studying month! As mentioned in my previous post I need to attend English course & Excel course. Given a tied schedule at work now I still need to study! Damn shag loh! The excel course is really not that easy, there's so much to absorb in that 2 days. Back home I really need to do homework and do revision.

Hope June, my birthday month to come real soon! I hate this April.

Back to study....

Thanks to the government, company like us was given a fund to arrange course for all permanent staff that are Singaporean. And what the company has chose is the subject I hate most! ENGLISH!

From new blog
Goosh back in school time, I really hate this subject. Since young, my mom will force me to read story books and that doesn't really helped me improve my English. It just make me hate it more, the moment I start reading a few pages I will fall asleep. I started to enjoy writing and reading when I started work. A ex-colleague introduced me some story book and I got hook by some author. And thanks to my nature of work, all those nasty emails and proposals makes me write more. Then I started blogging too, which hubby always comment on my English. But then the base of my English Language is still not there.

Language is really something that you don't improve in one night, it takes years to build especially during school time it's important. But I still think it's a good thing I get to go to the course even though it's damn boring! The course try to link back to our work related, many customer service matters are put into the course. Which I feel it's useless and waste of time. But there are still some writing skills I learn from the course.

And since I am back to studying English, I shall push myself to go back to blogging again. I realise I stopped blogging quite some time.... Well it's a good chance to pick it back and hope it improves my writing. There will be a test at the end of the course too!

Other than the English course, there will be a excel course too! Starting in April, 3 days course. Many colleagues went and came back saying it's difficult. Hope I'll be able to pass this too as our course is break into 3 weeks each Friday once. Which makes it more difficult to remember what you have learned, there's also a test on the 3rd day of course. I'm quite excited over this course! Wish me good luck!

Company Day Out!

This year company have a rest day for everyone and the store is closed for that day. Company give each department a fund to arrange a department day out. We all decided to go for a bowling and a buffet lunch after that.

I was not feeling well that day but I drag my body to attend the session. It's very seldom that we will go out as a whole department although many of us will prefer without the bosses. haha

Bowling session was fun and we played 2 rounds of game.

After the bowling we went to MBS for buffet lunch at Todai. Hubby and I wanted to visit this restaurant long ago as it's a seafood japanese buffet restaurant. Luckily we didn't go by ourselves!!!! The buffet is so disappointing, the portion of food they put is so little. I wonder if it's because it's lunch time and there's not much customers but buffet shouldn't be like this! The range of food is too little that there's like nothing much to eat. Just so disappointed with the buffet but then I was having gastric so it wasn't affecting me too haha.

The department photo of the day.

Farewell Lunch

This farewell lunch was arranged very last minutes, which makes me feels "do they really care about each other?" Everything just seems like a show to me, show off how their skill to pleased the bosses. I know this day will come, the day this Japanese Division Manager will be transferred out for better opportunity. Well I think he is a good boss sometimes, as if there's a problem you face he is willing to hear you out and see if he can find a solution for you. Of cause sometimes his solution might not be the best for you.... But I am grateful to him that he has given me a chance 7 years ago to prove to him and myself that I am capable in doing what my senior was doing previously. Even though I have chosen to move back to where I was for now. Sometimes I think he is a very irritating boss as he always try to cut our cost to pleased the management. Which in return now our cost is so low that there's nothing much new we can do.

Anyway he is moving to Vietnam for Vietnam project, I wishes all the best for him. I know the days will never be the same after he left, things might be worst in the department. I still hope for the best for everyone in the department, it's not going to be easy to readjust yourself to a new management change which I am so used to it. The staff that has been under him for years since they first join will have a tough time readjusting. But what can we say? We just have to do what is told to make our life easier.

Back to the farewell lunch, this is the lunch that I really didn't enjoy. Didn't enjoy is because seeing someone keep doing show and pleasing the boss that is leaving. Oh come on save it up! He don't even appreciate what you are doing and maybe think it was so extra!

To end this post, here's the last department photo with this Japanese boss. Goodbye!

Department Lunch

The usual yearly department lunch treat by boss, this year our boss wanted all the managers to chip in money for the treat as this year we have too many people. So this year we finally can have the buffet! We had the buffet at carousel buffet for lunch.
From blog
Buffet range of food is good, but I find the seafood is not as fresh. Many people comment its very nice buffet and its very expensive. But I find it ok only.

Our department photo! There's going to be changes again this year and our japanese boss will be moving to Vietnam. He has been in our dept for 7 years, he has been quite a nice boss overall. At least he was the one that has given me the chance to prove myself. But he sometimes give painful and headache instructions. I will missed him, the dept will just going to be even more messy without him. I can't imagine what will happened but it's not going to be easy for the next few years.

Anyway I kind of like this photo everyone is smiling very happy.

Catz getting ready for Christmas!

Christmas mood always comes early at office, this year we gotten Sesame Street characters! Love their songs & dance, cute characters too. Bring out the childhood memories!

Manage to catch the show last Friday and took a photo with all the characters!

From blog

Well there must be some Christmas mood at home too! And YES I finally can have a Christmas tree at home! I don't want a big standing tree just want a not too small and yet not too big on on the TV console. This is so that it's easy to keep in the storeroom after Christmas.

Celebration party!

After weeks of hard work, we decided to go out for dinner and chill out after one peak period. Everyone make time and we went Vivo for dinner, it's my favourite Chilli Crab! Yummy Yummy!

It's also Bryan's birthday the next day so we decided to celebrate his birthday for him. Brought a Hello Kitty cake for him! LOL

From blog

After dinner we went for drinking and enjoyed the rest of the night. It's been a long time we haven't go out after work and really enjoy food together. There will be new colleagues joining the department soon don't know if we will go out together again soon. But guess the next outing might be at my new place already....

1st Oct 2013 Dinner & Dance

It's the annual thing, but this year's dinner & dance location is finally somewhere new! Resort world Ballroom! It's our first time holding the D&D there, well I guess it's only going to happen once in 20 years. This year many of the suppliers were invited to the D&D as well, programs of the night is kind of boring as compared to the past year.

Anyway, we just simply go there to enjoy the food and laughter looking at what the others preform on stage.

This year we also took a group photo by the instant print booth, which we don't usually do.

From blog

This year department photo is also very crowded.... short of Mr Yamamoto as he was sick and couldn't attend.

Overall it's fun but the cab fare is damn ex too!

Office happening

This year there has been lots of stuff happening in office, lots of unhappiness. Luckily our promotion team is still doing well, luckily I had a very good talk with the working partner. Well after the course I tend to understand how I should be communicating with colleagues. Of cos hopefully I can really use what I have learned.

Just last week a new marketing girl joined, just only within one week she seems to be able to see the problem of the marketing manager. Well she also has been struggling to leave or to stay. In the end I think she has chosen to leave, as we saw her talking to the division manager last Friday. We all thought the last one that left 2 weeks after started work was the fastest record now this one even break the record! I wonder how will the management think and arrange. Personally I think all the arrangement that was done the last 2 weeks are just waste of time.

So now it's back to square one~

On course ~ 27 Aug & 28 Aug 2013

Company have planned a 2 days course for every full time staff in the company, everyone has to attend base on schedule. Had heard some feedback from colleagues that have went last few weeks. Finally it was my turn to attend this week...

Was told to report at 8.30am on the first day, I reached Tanjong Pagar very early but I lost my way. Only manage to reach around 8.35am but heng I'm not the last one. The course is actually quite fun but the negative point is it's too tiring. The first day they only let us have to lunch at 1.45pm I nearly fainted and gotten gastric after that. In between there were break time as well as fun activities that keep going. 1st day ended with a assignment that each team have to come out with a dish. So no choice we have to go shopping for ingredient after the class ends at 5.30pm.

Our team photo on the first day of class, luckily I still know 2 group member. One of them is my food department manager which I have to work with him sometimes. The other one is a cashier staff from Sports Department, know her because of the packers duty during X'mas. So I wasn't that bored over the 2 days.
From blog
Went NTUC to purchase the ingredients. In the end I can only go home at 6.30pm, OT leh!!!
From blog
2nd day we need to present our dish and I was in-charge of the power point slides, I prepare the slide till 12am the day before. I was damn tired although our team didn't win anything but I think we did well.
