Hubby's birthday ~ Closed Terrarium workshop

It's a Saturday, but unfortunately I wasn't feeling well that day so some activities I planned have to be cancelled. I booked a closed terrarium workshop for hubby & me that day. We wanted to visit a cafe for tea break before the workshop. But the cafe is holding a private event, so we have to travel out for a early dinner elsewhere.

Hubby always wanted to know how to do a closed terrarium, found out this workshop from "Make your own" from a TV program. If you are interested: http://estore.makeyourown.sg/

They have some event elsewhere so only available slot that day is 7pm. We reach there slightly early, get to look around the small shop. The lady there is quite friendly, she gave some brief introduction of their workshop. She also allow me to take photo of their display too.

The procedure of making closed terrarium is quite simple. The workshop will last around 1 - 1.5hrs depends on your speed.

Both of us finish our product quite fast, the staff there is very nice gave quite a few tips on how you manage your plant when you are back home. She even offer to help us to take a photo with our final product.

Back to study....

Thanks to the government, company like us was given a fund to arrange course for all permanent staff that are Singaporean. And what the company has chose is the subject I hate most! ENGLISH!

From new blog
Goosh back in school time, I really hate this subject. Since young, my mom will force me to read story books and that doesn't really helped me improve my English. It just make me hate it more, the moment I start reading a few pages I will fall asleep. I started to enjoy writing and reading when I started work. A ex-colleague introduced me some story book and I got hook by some author. And thanks to my nature of work, all those nasty emails and proposals makes me write more. Then I started blogging too, which hubby always comment on my English. But then the base of my English Language is still not there.

Language is really something that you don't improve in one night, it takes years to build especially during school time it's important. But I still think it's a good thing I get to go to the course even though it's damn boring! The course try to link back to our work related, many customer service matters are put into the course. Which I feel it's useless and waste of time. But there are still some writing skills I learn from the course.

And since I am back to studying English, I shall push myself to go back to blogging again. I realise I stopped blogging quite some time.... Well it's a good chance to pick it back and hope it improves my writing. There will be a test at the end of the course too!

Other than the English course, there will be a excel course too! Starting in April, 3 days course. Many colleagues went and came back saying it's difficult. Hope I'll be able to pass this too as our course is break into 3 weeks each Friday once. Which makes it more difficult to remember what you have learned, there's also a test on the 3rd day of course. I'm quite excited over this course! Wish me good luck!

Anti:dote afternoon tea

10 Jan 2015

Wanted to book the Anti:dote afternoon tea during December but the place was fully booked for the month of December! So no choice I booked it on 10 Jan 2015, wanted to try this long ago but hubby wasn't a high tea person. After receiving my bonus, I wait NO MORE! Decided to treat hubby, and since it's free hubby wouldn't reject.

The happy me with the afternoon tea set!

There's 2 sets available difference is only the starting dish, black truffle scrambled eggs or selection of steamed Hong Kong Dim Sum. Since there's 2 person, we have one each to share.

Steamed Hong Kong Dim Sun

You must be thinking it's just dim sum you can eat it anywhere, there isn't a need to eat here. I have the same thinking too before I had the 1st bite of the dim sum. OH GOD IT'S NICE! Only 3 pieces? Can I have more!? If ever they have a dim sum buffet I'll book for my next trip straight away! I'm not kidding, it's really very nice dim sum.

And of cause the main dish are the assorted pastries & sandwiches. Why did I got attracted to this afternoon tea was it's concept. All pastries & sandwiches are displayed into a mini dresser box! Simply fall in love with the presentation of the pastries.

We enjoyed the afternoon tea so much, the pastries are all so yummy! By the time we finished it we were both too full!

I highly recommend this afternoon tea to everyone, luckily we went it earlier as recently they have increased their price. When I had this each pax is at $38++ but now they increased to $45++ per pax. Guess I wouldn't pay that amount for 2nd time, but at least I have tried it! Didn't regret paying that amount for this afternoon tea.

Jan 2015 Anniversary short getaway

I suggested to get a short getaway to Batam, Montigo resort, as I always wanted to visit this resort. Hubby agreed and we booked one night stay at Montigo, the resort is quite expensive actually. The resort room is actually quite big for just the 2 of us, it has 2 room with a big roof balcony and a private pool. Really excited over the short getaway.

We arrival at Batam in the afternoon, check in at around 3pm.

2015 new member to the family

Arrival of Baby Zhe Xu
From new blog

Sister-in-law baby arrive on 8 Jan 2015! He is so cute right? The family has been looking forward to the arrival of this little one. Congrats to SIL!

Sister-in-law arranged a maid to help out at home & baby. At first really wonder if it's a good idea especially sometimes my MIL can be quite picky with stuff. But think it's still a good idea as the maid can still help out with the house work.

We visited her one of the weekend and happy that Zhe Xu did wake up and play with us for awhile. Hubby also took the chance to carry Baby Zhe Xu which he is quite scare to carry new born baby.

Baby Zhe Xu smile happily when hubby was carrying him. Guess he's happy with this uncle...haha
