Goosh another year ending. How was your 2015? For me, I really didn't quite like 2015 and actually I am kind of feeling happy it's ending soon!
2015 wasn't a lucky year for me especially towards work.
There were too many issues at work and I got so tired and frustrated over it. Things just wasn't on my side and at times other people can just throw their responsibility to me. Many times I felt as if I'm just fighting alone. So I decided to end the 2015 with a bang, resignation to end my unhappiness. Saying goodbye to a job I have worked for 14 years wasn't easy. I didn't want let out the news to others at the end of 2015. I'll wait till when we are back to work on 4 Jan then I'll tell them. I foresee some colleagues will be affected by my leaving, some intend to go as well. Doesn't know what will happened in 2016. But I'm just hopping the better for me.
2015 hubby and I went for 3 holidays, Shanghai, Bangkok and Penang. Penang was a very last minute trip. It was just one afternoon I felt so stress up at work and decided I need to go for a break. I text hubby to purchase the air ticket. Shanghai trip was with mother-in-law, a very different kind of holiday for us. It was a very relaxing trip. Bangkok was my birthday trip, it was wonderful! hahaha all about eating & shopping couldn't ask for more.
Nothing much else happened in 2015. Glad that it's ending the unlucky year for me.
Good bye 2015!
Hello 2016!!!
Advance Happy New Year to everyone!

Tue 29 Dec 2015
This post should be a short one, sorry for not keeping on my writing on my blog. I realize my posts in 2015 is very little too but I just couldn't put my heart in doing things I used to enjoy.
The title of this post is Tue 29 Dec 2015. I wanted to record this down as it marks an important date in my life. On this date I have finally tender my resignation for my job that I have been working for 14 years. Decision to make this move was hard....nights of crying in front of hubby, days of straggling at work, trying to think for reason for me to stay put.
Finally many things happened just during this few weeks in Dec to make me realize I have delayed enough. It's time to move on~~
The moment I handed my letter to my boss, I felt calm. This is it, no more u-turn. My boss was pretty shock when he saw the letter. We talked for awhile and he didn't offer to make any changes and accepted my decision.
Now it is just the counting down for the one month notice.......

Yu Yuan is quite a tourist place, very crowded. You need to be careful with pick pockets. A lot of local snacks as well, you can also purchase souvenirs there.

If you are at Yu Yuan, must not forget to eat the Nan Xiang xiao long bao there! It's the best xiao long bao I ever ate.

Shanghai Trip 2015 - Day 1
From new blog |
We planned the trip for Mother-in-law in May, just realise I didn't blog about it. Not just that my post are getting lesser.....
Shall not give myself too much excuses any more.
This trip is a short one 4 Days 3 Nights, reason being this is consider our 2nd time going out of Singapore with MIL. We don't know how she will behave and if she has the energy to follow us through a long journey. Location selected Shanghai, reason being my MIL only eat chinese cuisine unlike my mothers who eat any cuisine. Furthermore we wanted to bring MIL to somewhere she has never been before. Taiwan & Hong Kong she went with her friends & siblings before. And I haven't been to Shanghai too so final decision was Shanghai. Hubby has been to Shanghai once in many years back then for business trip. He did want to travel out of Shanghai, I told him not to do so reason being this trip is with MIL better not get too much travelling around.
Same thing Hubby did the research and arranged everything. I am just a follower. We took Singapore Airline to Shanghai, reason being there was promotion and also MIL haven't take SQ before. Who knows on our flight to Shanghai, the flight engine got some problem to start. We were disembark the plane and wait for repair. The whole journey was delayed by 3 hours.... We only manage to reach Shanghai at 4.30pm when we suppose to reach at 1.30pm.

1st day was a little unexpected for the delay, we also met the off work/school crowd at MRT. Check-in hotel room and went out looking for dinner.
From new blog |
We went Hai Di Lao for dinner...yum yum....but got long queue. Hai Di Lao arranged many activities for you while you wait for your table. You will not get too bored, there's free manicure, free change face performance, movie on tv, table games...etc

Looking back.....
Didn't realise it has been quite a long time I didn't blog....wonder why? I used to love writing down happenings in my life, my feelings and thoughts. Where has that part gone?
The tiring work life and turn me to a walking zombie I realise. Doing anything during weekends seems to make me feel tired. All I wanted to do is to rest on my sofa and watch dramas. There has been many happenings in life the past 2 months that I would like to blog but just couldn't pick up the heart to do so.
Sudden feelings makes me log on to this page again, wanted to note down some unhappiness. Working at this company has been close to 14 years going 15th soon. Looking back the job has turn me to another person. I have been through hard times at work, there was happiness and sadness moments. Many people come, many people left the company. Good colleagues left but I am still here. I no longer have any strong feelings when someone close resign, I even will ask the close ones to leave this company soonest.
I don't hate the company, I hate the management. I always believe if the management are good the life of the staff will be better. That's why leadership is important. As days goes by, I couldn't see my future in the company. These days there's always an anger in us that couldn't be release out. People being not co-operative at work and managers doesn't know how to handle the situation. Are they so lousy in managing? Or they are just simply ignoring?
Well whatever it is, I think I should learn to not get bothered by all these people. I know it's hard but that's the learning process of being a better person. I have learned from a previous manager "don't let the situation make you down, learn to turn the situation to your benefit".
Believe stress is good to you. Turn stress to motivation. Work is only just a small part of my life. My bigger part in life is my family & friends who really cares.

Labour Day
Had a meet up with the PSB group on Labour Day, when was our last meet up? It's like years! It was kind of a last minutes arrangement. Thanks to Kelly who suggested to meet up and find a location that we can have a quick lunch.
These guys are still the same, didn't change much and so is there job. When we first started studying, we all was hoping that getting the cert will hopefully help us to be able to find a better job. Haha who knows after 10 years we are all still doing the same job.
From new blog |
Kelly bought her son along, he isn't shy when he meet us which is good. He even get along really well with Adrian Lim. Haha Ben was always staring at Kelly's son with envy hoping his own son can quickly be that big enough to take care of himself. It's like a quick update during the lunch session,
From new blog |
Even Kelly and me don't always meet up nowadays too, last few months we wanted to meet up but her schedule couldn't make it too. She changed quite a bit started doing sales at her old job and now seems like she will start doing MLM sales too. Great change for her, guess it will be better for her too.
Hope our next gathering will not take years to organise. But it was nice to see everyone once in a blue moon too.
After the lunch meet up I meet Hubby and have our afternoon tea at Blooms Bury Bakers, it's our 2nd time there and we still enjoy the cakes & coffee.
Relaxing & enjoying Labour Day. Happy Labour Day to everyone!

End of April
Without much notice it's already the end of April?! Wow time really pass damn fast. Is it due to the busy schedule in life that makes us think that way? But anyway I'm glad that April has passed, why? I was damn stress over works and I didn't quite enjoyed the month of April. haha
As mentioned in my previous post I went for the excel course this month, it was damn stressful to go back to study and sit for an exam. What makes it worst was I had my 1st day of mense on the exam day! Nearly wanted to give up taking the test and ask for retest. Luckily I still make it for the test and got myself 94 marks! It was really a great relief for me once I saw my score as the passing score must be 75 and above. Crazy right? But I'm glad it's over and I have gotten some useful skills.
Just before the test I decided to do some exercise to release out the stress, so one of the weekend hubby bought me to punggol end point for cycling! It was a great work out and I enjoyed myself cycling along punggol end with great view.
Not forgetting to mention I love the bicycle! It's so cute! How I wish I own such cute bicycle.

Other than the stressful work and study there's also a little bit of fun stuff happened in April. One of it will be the Dinner & Dance! This year theme is back to school, ok it's really boring theme. And our dept usually wouldn't dress according to the theme. haha
Camera whoring in office while waiting for the others to finish their work.

At the event hall the crazy girl at school...Mark Lee was the special guest that night. We didn't quite like his performance, it's kind of boring actually...haha
From new blog |
Photos taken at the photo booth, this year is also the last year we attending D&D with Zenn San. She has just resigned and last day is end of April. Although it's hard to say goodbye to her, she has been Kai Xin Guo at work. Nevertheless I wishes her all the best in her future, hope we will still keep in touch. We will sure miss Zenn San.

Stress Level HIGH!
Ok what happened to this April? Perhaps because last few years this period I will be away for holiday so I don't handle so many shitty event. But that really makes me hoping my real holiday comes soon!
From new blog |
So what have I been stress with? One major event going on in June and a stressful studying month! As mentioned in my previous post I need to attend English course & Excel course. Given a tied schedule at work now I still need to study! Damn shag loh! The excel course is really not that easy, there's so much to absorb in that 2 days. Back home I really need to do homework and do revision.
Hope June, my birthday month to come real soon! I hate this April.

Hubby's birthday ~ Closed Terrarium workshop
It's a Saturday, but unfortunately I wasn't feeling well that day so some activities I planned have to be cancelled. I booked a closed terrarium workshop for hubby & me that day. We wanted to visit a cafe for tea break before the workshop. But the cafe is holding a private event, so we have to travel out for a early dinner elsewhere.
Hubby always wanted to know how to do a closed terrarium, found out this workshop from "Make your own" from a TV program. If you are interested: http://estore.makeyourown.sg/
They have some event elsewhere so only available slot that day is 7pm. We reach there slightly early, get to look around the small shop. The lady there is quite friendly, she gave some brief introduction of their workshop. She also allow me to take photo of their display too.
From new blog |
The procedure of making closed terrarium is quite simple. The workshop will last around 1 - 1.5hrs depends on your speed.
From new blog |
Both of us finish our product quite fast, the staff there is very nice gave quite a few tips on how you manage your plant when you are back home. She even offer to help us to take a photo with our final product.
Back to study....
Thanks to the government, company like us was given a fund to arrange course for all permanent staff that are Singaporean. And what the company has chose is the subject I hate most! ENGLISH!
From new blog |
Goosh back in school time, I really hate this subject. Since young, my mom will force me to read story books and that doesn't really helped me improve my English. It just make me hate it more, the moment I start reading a few pages I will fall asleep. I started to enjoy writing and reading when I started work. A ex-colleague introduced me some story book and I got hook by some author. And thanks to my nature of work, all those nasty emails and proposals makes me write more. Then I started blogging too, which hubby always comment on my English. But then the base of my English Language is still not there.
Language is really something that you don't improve in one night, it takes years to build especially during school time it's important. But I still think it's a good thing I get to go to the course even though it's damn boring! The course try to link back to our work related, many customer service matters are put into the course. Which I feel it's useless and waste of time. But there are still some writing skills I learn from the course.
And since I am back to studying English, I shall push myself to go back to blogging again. I realise I stopped blogging quite some time.... Well it's a good chance to pick it back and hope it improves my writing. There will be a test at the end of the course too!
Other than the English course, there will be a excel course too! Starting in April, 3 days course. Many colleagues went and came back saying it's difficult. Hope I'll be able to pass this too as our course is break into 3 weeks each Friday once. Which makes it more difficult to remember what you have learned, there's also a test on the 3rd day of course. I'm quite excited over this course! Wish me good luck!
Anti:dote afternoon tea
10 Jan 2015
The happy me with the afternoon tea set!
Last level
We enjoyed the afternoon tea so much, the pastries are all so yummy! By the time we finished it we were both too full!
Wanted to book the Anti:dote afternoon tea during December but the place was fully booked for the month of December! So no choice I booked it on 10 Jan 2015, wanted to try this long ago but hubby wasn't a high tea person. After receiving my bonus, I wait NO MORE! Decided to treat hubby, and since it's free hubby wouldn't reject.
From new blog |
There's 2 sets available difference is only the starting dish, black truffle scrambled eggs or selection of steamed Hong Kong Dim Sum. Since there's 2 person, we have one each to share.
Black Truffle scrambled egg
From new blog |
This is really yummy! The black truffle on top of the egg smell damn good! There's 2 tried bread stick for you to dip into the egg. The combination is really mind blowing.
Steamed Hong Kong Dim Sun
From new blog |
You must be thinking it's just dim sum you can eat it anywhere, there isn't a need to eat here. I have the same thinking too before I had the 1st bite of the dim sum. OH GOD IT'S NICE! Only 3 pieces? Can I have more!? If ever they have a dim sum buffet I'll book for my next trip straight away! I'm not kidding, it's really very nice dim sum.
And of cause the main dish are the assorted pastries & sandwiches. Why did I got attracted to this afternoon tea was it's concept. All pastries & sandwiches are displayed into a mini dresser box! Simply fall in love with the presentation of the pastries.

I highly recommend this afternoon tea to everyone, luckily we went it earlier as recently they have increased their price. When I had this each pax is at $38++ but now they increased to $45++ per pax. Guess I wouldn't pay that amount for 2nd time, but at least I have tried it! Didn't regret paying that amount for this afternoon tea.
Jan 2015 Anniversary short getaway
I suggested to get a short getaway to Batam, Montigo resort, as I always wanted to visit this resort. Hubby agreed and we booked one night stay at Montigo, the resort is quite expensive actually. The resort room is actually quite big for just the 2 of us, it has 2 room with a big roof balcony and a private pool. Really excited over the short getaway.
We arrival at Batam in the afternoon, check in at around 3pm.

2015 new member to the family
Arrival of Baby Zhe Xu
From new blog |
Sister-in-law baby arrive on 8 Jan 2015! He is so cute right? The family has been looking forward to the arrival of this little one. Congrats to SIL!
Sister-in-law arranged a maid to help out at home & baby. At first really wonder if it's a good idea especially sometimes my MIL can be quite picky with stuff. But think it's still a good idea as the maid can still help out with the house work.
We visited her one of the weekend and happy that Zhe Xu did wake up and play with us for awhile. Hubby also took the chance to carry Baby Zhe Xu which he is quite scare to carry new born baby.
From new blog |
Baby Zhe Xu smile happily when hubby was carrying him. Guess he's happy with this uncle...haha
The latest family photo took during the Chinese New Year.
