CNY Celebration

Not sure if I mentioned before in my blog that since young I hated Chinese New Year period. Reason is simple days are boring and we just have to follows where ever the adults goes. Even though people will say that kids should like it as they get the ang bao money. Anyway now that I have my own house, I still decorate it to have the CNY mood. Making home decoration makes me fell happy.

So 1st day of CNY is as usual we meet my family member and go for a movie after which proceed to my mom's place for dinner.

2nd day of CNY also the same, but this year Hubby's side relative is going to my mother-in-law place for gathering. Which makes her more duties to do, hubby went over earlier to help out. I have to stay at my mother's place to help out the lunch session before I went over to my mother-in-law side.

This year I'm happy to see the 3 kids of my cousin, the last round I saw them they were still a baby in their arms. Now the 2 elder ones is running about at our place.

From blog
As for my mother-in-law side session, it's so crowded I can't even find a place to sit down. Well there were also some dramas happened which I'm not going to go details of it. Anyway wonder what will happened if it is at our new house...whatever it is. As I said I hate CNY celebration. :P

Farewell Lunch

This farewell lunch was arranged very last minutes, which makes me feels "do they really care about each other?" Everything just seems like a show to me, show off how their skill to pleased the bosses. I know this day will come, the day this Japanese Division Manager will be transferred out for better opportunity. Well I think he is a good boss sometimes, as if there's a problem you face he is willing to hear you out and see if he can find a solution for you. Of cause sometimes his solution might not be the best for you.... But I am grateful to him that he has given me a chance 7 years ago to prove to him and myself that I am capable in doing what my senior was doing previously. Even though I have chosen to move back to where I was for now. Sometimes I think he is a very irritating boss as he always try to cut our cost to pleased the management. Which in return now our cost is so low that there's nothing much new we can do.

Anyway he is moving to Vietnam for Vietnam project, I wishes all the best for him. I know the days will never be the same after he left, things might be worst in the department. I still hope for the best for everyone in the department, it's not going to be easy to readjust yourself to a new management change which I am so used to it. The staff that has been under him for years since they first join will have a tough time readjusting. But what can we say? We just have to do what is told to make our life easier.

Back to the farewell lunch, this is the lunch that I really didn't enjoy. Didn't enjoy is because seeing someone keep doing show and pleasing the boss that is leaving. Oh come on save it up! He don't even appreciate what you are doing and maybe think it was so extra!

To end this post, here's the last department photo with this Japanese boss. Goodbye!

CNY Lohei with family

This year reunion dinner is held at Jie's place, maybe she didn't want mom to get to tired over cooking. So we went over to Jie's place for dinner, she ordered food from restaurant. We had a very good talk that night before dinner.

Before dinner we also had the Lohei, which the kids enjoyed throwing the Lohei....Which makes me wonder do they understand the real meaning behind doing this Lohei...hummmm

Gathering at punggol

Arranged my colleagues to come up to my place for gathering, this is their 1st time coming up to my place. Total of 13 of them, so I decided to make some simple dish for dinner at my place.

We went to my another colleague house which is very near my place for Lohei first then move to my place for dinner

It has been quite a long time we didn't have gatherings with ex-colleagues and new colleagues.

It has been fun day with laughter, food and drinks. Hope we will still continue on with such gathering no matter how not happy we face during work. Work is still work hope the friendship we have will not b affected.

It's really not easy to hold so many people in my tiny house. There will be a few more different group of gathering going to happen in my place. It can be quite tiring loh. :P

Sha's wedding

Sha is one of our part timer in office, he has been with us for many years. He invited our whole dept to his wedding. I am very excited, this is my 2nd time attending Malay wedding. And this is held at a Community Center which usually is held at void deck. Happy for the couple and the wedding is very nicely done a little unlike the traditional Malay wedding I have went to. I think it was because most guest are chinese and ang mo.

Best wishes for the couple.

Department Lunch

The usual yearly department lunch treat by boss, this year our boss wanted all the managers to chip in money for the treat as this year we have too many people. So this year we finally can have the buffet! We had the buffet at carousel buffet for lunch.
From blog
Buffet range of food is good, but I find the seafood is not as fresh. Many people comment its very nice buffet and its very expensive. But I find it ok only.

Our department photo! There's going to be changes again this year and our japanese boss will be moving to Vietnam. He has been in our dept for 7 years, he has been quite a nice boss overall. At least he was the one that has given me the chance to prove myself. But he sometimes give painful and headache instructions. I will missed him, the dept will just going to be even more messy without him. I can't imagine what will happened but it's not going to be easy for the next few years.

Anyway I kind of like this photo everyone is smiling very happy.
